In June 2020, during the gruelling lockdown period in Nigeria, Ukabuilu Chukwuka discovered two abandoned old widows in Mbawsi, Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area in Abia State through information from Mrs. Blessing Chukwunyere, a school proprietor in the community.
He kicked off an online fundraiser in their favor, removed all decadent property in their homes and got brand new ones, got them walking aids, exposed them to full medical care, including eye care, paid a caregiver for a year upfront to take care of them and give him feedback per time, renovated their houses and organized a local medical outreach to meet the health needs of other old people in the village.
These efforts burdened him to put a structure around his compelling humanitarian spirit and streamline resources to reach as many more needy persons in sidelined communities as possible.
